Yeatee Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Yeatee is provided by Web AI Tips Limited, a company registered in England and Wales ("Yeatee", "we", "us" or "our"). Web AI Tips Limited is the controller of the personal information covered by this Privacy Policy.

Yeatee is a meal-planning app that lets you save your own recipes and restaurant dishes, organise meals, prepare shopping lists, use optional AI recipe help and arrange selected meals with confirmed friends. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why it is used, when it is shared, how long it is kept and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to the Yeatee mobile app and the online services used to operate it.

1. Our privacy approach

Yeatee is designed to collect the least amount of personal information reasonably necessary to provide the features you choose to use.

These principles apply throughout the service and are intended to give you meaningful control from the moment you begin using Yeatee.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

We collect the information needed to create and operate your account, including:

If you use Google or Sign in with Apple, the provider may supply an email address, name or profile image. You may edit your Yeatee profile name and avatar. If you choose Hide My Email when using Sign in with Apple, Apple gives Yeatee a private forwarding address instead of your personal email address. An email you later send us from your usual inbox may therefore not match the address attached to your Yeatee account.

If we cannot find your account from your support email alone, we may ask for your Yeatee profile name and a screenshot of your profile showing its current name and avatar, or the default profile image if you have not chosen an avatar. We use this information to locate the likely account and investigate your request. It does not, by itself, prove that you own the account, so we may ask for another reasonable verification step before making a sensitive change or disclosing account information. To avoid confusing one account with another while we investigate, we may also ask you to keep the profile name and avatar unchanged until the case is closed, or to tell us promptly if either one changes.

Your profile name and avatar are the public identity details used when you connect and share inside Yeatee. A private nickname that another user assigns to you belongs only to that user and is not part of your public profile.

Your registration email is private account information. Yeatee does not include it in the profile identity returned to friends or shared-plan participants.

An email address or a supported Apple or Google sign-in is needed to create and maintain an account. A profile avatar, recipes, restaurant details, shopping-list content, friend connections, location and AI scans are optional and are provided only when you choose the related feature.

Content you provide

Depending on the features you use, we collect and store:

Subscription information

We receive information required to recognise and manage your subscription, such as your subscription tier, status, renewal or expiry information and app-store transaction identifiers. Apple processes App Store payments. Yeatee does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details.

Device and service information

We process:

Yeatee stores your sign-in session securely in the iOS Keychain. It may also keep temporary copies of profile, recipe, plan and image information on your device to improve performance, support offline viewing and preserve unfinished work. A shopping list you choose to print or share may be created temporarily as a PDF. These local files are removed by relevant app actions, storage limits, account deletion or iOS storage management, as applicable.

Yeatee does not currently use third-party advertising or analytics services to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.

Where information comes from

Most information comes directly from you when you create an account, save content, choose a device permission or use a feature. We may also receive limited account or subscription information from Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat or the App Store when you choose their sign-in or purchase services. A confirmed friend may provide a response and optional note when they agree or disagree with a meal plan you send to them.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand and improve Yeatee where it is reasonable to do so and permitted by law.

Our legal bases

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

4. Camera, photos and location

Yeatee does not ask for permissions in advance or keep unused permissions in reserve. It requests access only at the moment you choose a feature that needs it. You can refuse or later revoke access in iOS Settings, although the related feature may then be unavailable.

Yeatee does not request background or "Always" location access. A location used to fill an address is not kept as a separate history of your movements. If you save the restaurant, its chosen address and coordinates become part of that recipe or meal-plan content. Opening directions transfers the destination to Apple Maps, which operates under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

5. Friends and sharing

Adding a friend

Yeatee's friend-adding flow is designed for face-to-face use. One person displays a personal QR code and the other scans it in the app. Each QR code expires 30 minutes after it is created. Closing and reopening the page during that period continues to show the same code; a new code is generated only after the current one expires. This short validity period reduces the usefulness of copying or circulating a code online.

Scanning does not by itself create an active friendship. It creates a pending request, and the person who displayed the QR code has the final choice to accept or decline it. Either user can later remove the connection.

Information visible to friends

A connected friend can see your profile name and avatar. Friends see meal-plan content only through Yeatee's sharing features.

Your registration email is not shown as part of this friend or shared-plan identity.

The following permissions are controlled separately for each friend and are off by default:

Shopping-list content and the price you record for a dish remain private to you and are not shown to friends. A nickname you give a friend is also private to your own account.

These two sharing permissions were created specifically to avoid an all-or-nothing sharing model. Enabling one permission does not enable the other, and you may change them for each friend.

Arranging a meal with a friend

You can send a selected meal plan to one confirmed friend at a time. Yeatee stores the plan, the people involved, a stable snapshot of the selected recipes, the request status and relevant timestamps. The receiving friend can agree or disagree and may add a response note. These actions are chosen by the participants; Yeatee does not decide whether a plan should be accepted.

Your sharing permissions are checked again when a shared plan is viewed. If you later turn off access to cooking steps or restaurant details, that category is hidden from the friend's later views even if the plan was sent earlier. Information already seen or independently saved by another person cannot be recalled by the app.

6. AI recipe scanning

AI recipe scanning is optional and runs only when you choose to submit a dish or menu image. OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic may provide image analysis to prepare a draft for your review. AI results may be incomplete or inaccurate, and you decide whether to edit, save or discard them.

An unsaved AI analysis is available for up to 24 hours. After it expires, it cannot be used to create a recipe and you will need to perform the scan again. Related analysis records may remain until account deletion or operational cleanup where they are needed to apply usage allowances, investigate errors or protect the service. An associated scan image is released for storage cleanup once it is no longer needed for active analysis. If you save a result, it becomes part of your Yeatee content and remains until you delete it or your account. AI recipe scanning is available on every plan, with monthly allowances shown in the app.

Yeatee does not use AI scanning to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

7. When we share information

We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

These providers process and retain information according to their role, the services they provide and the legal obligations that apply to them. Where a provider acts on our behalf, we require it to protect personal information and not use it for unrelated purposes.

Recipe covers and profile images are delivered through unique public links. Yeatee does not publish a directory of these links, but anyone with the exact link may be able to view the image.

Our providers may change as Yeatee develops. We will update this policy where a change materially affects how personal information is handled.

8. Data retention and deletion

We keep account information and user-created content while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the features you use, unless a shorter period is stated below.

Recipes, shopping-list content, restaurant details and uploaded images are not required merely to hold an account. They are collected only when you choose to create or save them. You can delete saved items through the relevant feature. Turning Meal History off permanently deletes earlier history and stops new Meal History until you turn it back on, while preserving meals already recorded that day until the next day. This deletion cannot be reversed and support cannot recover the removed history.

Account deletion

You can initiate deletion of your account from the Danger Zone in your Yeatee profile. The in-app process requires three deliberate actions. You must turn on the Danger Zone, confirm the deletion on the account deletion screen, and confirm it again in the final warning. After the final confirmation, your account is locked immediately and you are signed out. Your Yeatee account, profile, recipes, meal plans, uploaded images, friend connections and related account content are permanently deleted within 72 hours of your request. Other participants may retain shared-plan information or a generic outcome that they are entitled to keep, but Yeatee removes the deleted account's identity link from that surviving outcome. The deletion request cannot be cancelled, and neither Yeatee nor its support team can restore the deleted account or content. The limited account-deletion security record described above is retained separately for up to 12 months and cannot be used to restore your deleted account or content.

Deleting Yeatee does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Subscription billing can be managed separately through your Apple ID subscription settings. Yeatee removes the subscription information associated with your account, but Apple, RevenueCat and other payment providers may retain transaction, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting or compliance records under their own legal obligations and policies.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. These include authenticated access, encrypted transmission and secure storage of the sign-in session on the device. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Where Information Is Processed

Yeatee's main app services operate in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Some providers that support authentication, AI, subscriptions, payments and platform services may process information in the United States and, in some cases, other countries.

When personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we use safeguards required by applicable law, such as UK adequacy regulations or recognised contractual protections. You can contact contact@yeatee.com for more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.

11. Your choices and privacy rights

You can:

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, portability of, restriction of or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request that is not available directly in the app. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law.

You may also contact us if you cannot access an in-app control or want help exercising a privacy right. The in-app account-deletion process follows the 72-hour commitment described above. Other verified privacy-rights requests are handled within the time limits required by applicable law; reasonable identity verification may be required to protect your account.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the competent data-protection authority where you live. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but contacting us is not a condition of making a complaint.

12. Children's privacy

Yeatee is a general-audience meal-planning app and is not designed for children. Yeatee is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use Yeatee or provide any personal information to us. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so that we can review the situation and delete the information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Yeatee develops or where legal or operational requirements change. We will update the date at the top of the policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice before a material change takes effect. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date.
